The Scottish Government has approved a number of posts, across the eight Scottish Police Forces, relating to Counter Terrorism. One approved post is a Co-ordinator for the Scottish Terrorist Detention Centre (STDC), which will be based in Strathclyde Police's Operational Support Division.

The post-holder will be expected to plan and co-ordinate all administrative procedures, related to the efficient running of the STDC, over 2 sites, based at Govan Police station and a second Glasgow West End Police office.

The appointee must establish, review and test STDC activation plans, liaising with all key stake-holders, to ensure the facility's integrity. He/she will represent the STDC at related events, so should also have good communication/presentation skills.

You must have a degree or equivalent or demonstrable experience in a similar role, to include planning, logistics and building maintenance.

You should be well organised and have sound leadership skills, showing initiative and decisiveness. Out of hours work will, occasionally, be required. A driving licence is essential.

Whichever part of Police Staff you join, there are skills that are invaluable. We're an organisation based on strong teamwork – so you'll need to enjoy working with others. It's just as important you can communicate with confidence and clarity – whoever you're talking to. And personal integrity, flexibility, motivation and customer focus make up the rest.

Applicants must be a British citizen, a member of the EU or other states in the EEA, a Commonwealth citizen or a foreign national free of restrictions. You should also have been resident in the UK for a minimum of three years immediately prior to application. In certain circumstances, it is possible for the minimum residency period for vetting to be waived. This can only be done where it is possible to make, or confirm, in the relevant jurisdictions with local Law Enforcement and National Security bodies, which are equivalent, and of a similar standard, to enquires which would be made in the UK, on both the applicant and all family members and associates.
